lowering spring suggestion
I plan on installing factory reproduction ZL1 replicas with the recommended tire size of 285/35/20 on 20x10 23mm offset on the front and 305/35/20 on 20x11 43mm offset rear. I want to lower for a more aggressive stance. And suggestions on what springs to go with and how much i can lower without any rubbing issues? My budget won't allow for coilovers.

Whatever you do dont say anything about cutting a spring. They seem to want to kill anyone who has a inquiry about that.... been there... xD

I have factory ZL1 wheels and tires and they rubbed slightly. It's an easy fix with heavy duty zip ties to keep the emergency brake line up and out of the way attached to the toe rod. I didn't like the zip ties after a little while as swapped to Pradt toe rods and they are sharp on the edge which caused a zip tie to pop on me. After that I used about an inch of 3/8'' fuel line and cut it a slit in it to wrap it around the emergency brake line behind the white sleeve that holds it in the clip. Take a small hose clamp around the fuel line and tighten it down. The fuel line keeps the clamp from rubbing the emergency brake line. Push as much slack off the emergency brake line back into the car and tighten the clamp down. This gives you more clearance and won't move on you.
I used the thread referenced in the second post in this link for the process. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=178012

We just installed our 1.0" drop springs on a 2012 ZL1 with the factory wheels/tires. No rubbing issues anywhere. It really gave it a nice aggressive lowered stance without scraping every bump and dip in the road. That would be my suggestion!

+1 for Hotchkis. I'd say they are the best riding springs out there. BMR is a great choice as well.
