grinding into second dealer can't fix

I have a grinding shifting into second gear. It does it when it is cold, not so much when it is warm but does it also if I shift quickly under full power. I took it to the dealership in my home town and they told me that they don't have any experience with that transmission and to take it to a different dealer...Really!!...they sell these cars and can't repair them!! I was told their transmission tech will be getting the training soon so I said I'll bring it back then...he said not a good idea.
I bought the car used at a dealer out of town because it was a 45th 2ss that I wanted and I bought extended warranty. I really don't want to drive 150 miles to get it fixed.
Is it really possible that they don't know how to fix it? These cars have been out for 4 years.
Any thoughts?

I will tell you this.. you are going to have a hard time trying to convince them that there is an issue..there is really no 2nd gear grind issue.. You have to really pay attention when you shift when it is cold.. I have had it happen to me.. Just really make sure and shift with authority.. Never had issues after i consciously made that effort..
