Naturally Aspirated 3.91 1/4 mile passes. Finally.

[note: I'll post my tickets tomorrow. Right now I'm nursing a major sunburn in a crappy Baytown hotel].

Well I finally made some passes with the new gearing... And I was a little shocked. I knew I was going to fall a little flat towards the end of the strip, but I was hoping I would have made some better times. Granted I only made five passes and I didn't pull my sub box (wanted to know what it does as is). I'm sure I could have gotten a little lower, but I'd like to get a Honda beater in the garage before I really get hard on the car.

My best time was a 14.337. That's with K&N cai, Vmax TB, Falken 315's on my rear tires, and a custom tune from Lucky's Speed & Performance.

The car pulled hard in the first 1/8 mile, but just ran out of pull by the end. I will note that I was scaring the hell out of SS's in the 60' as I was hitting that around 2.1sec. Anyways, looks like it's a good thing I still have that Zex kit in storage.

Update: time slips in order slowest->fastest. I was car 128... Obviously lol

That seems a bit high for that set up. I drive a 14 1ls and best run was a 14.170 @ 97.71 with a 2.70 60' speed. I know you can do better if you get the right climate and launch conditions. Will post slip shortly if desired.

I'm sure I could too, as it was getting faster with every run, and I'm still a newb to drag racing, so I'm sure a better driver could have done better in it as well. Taking the sub box out probably would have seen a 5 hundredths change, but the biggest thing hurting me was 4th gear. The before and after of this upgrade is where and how the car hits it's powerband. The stock sixxer's were in the full throws of their power band right as I was coming to the plateau of mine.

Awesome that was one thing I was wondering about when i do the upgrade, traction issues. Seems like you didn't have too much trouble on street tires. Will have to see how I do since I have more bolt ons and will be using DRs.

Yeah, my first pass was without a burnout (14.7) and the rest were with one. So there was a little slippage, but I feel like it wasn't much. I'm wondering what I can do next other than the N2O to make it faster. I hope the Mace cams thing smooths out as that'd be an awesome way to get some power.

Also, I take out my spare tire as well. I also run between 29-30 lbs in the rear tires and about 36-37 in the front.
