Camaro: costs more than a house

I district manage a few liquor stores and today I was at one of the stores with my Camaro parked out front. Anyway, a guy pulls up to the drive thru and asks one of my employees if that's his Camaro outside, he replies with "no, I wouldn't drive one of those cars I could buy a house instead." I proceeded to laugh because my car's window price was $40,200. What kind of house (that's livable) can you get for $40,200? Then he ranted on about Mini Coopers. Aren't those like $30,000+? Just thought I would share cause I got a laugh out of it.

$40k would buy you a brand new mobile home and a down payment on some land here in Louisiana. So, close, lol. But yea Minis are expensive and so are houses.

I've nearly given up on owning a home. Any house I would want to live in here in Missoula, MT is around $200k. University town in a "desirable location". Ugh.

I got my 1le for $35k.

You can put a down payment of 40k... or buy 80 houses in Detroit -- cash.

That's what I was thinking. How ironic. You can buy a house in Detroit right now for under $40k. Some assembly required.
