I usually park a *little* closer in, as to not attract attention. Like maybe 10 spots down, or a row over, but not going so far as to park on an entirely different tax parcel, or zip code than the place where I intend to go

I park like that all the time and I still had some A-hole purposely ram a shopping cart into my door causing a major dent.

That's me!
My wife is actually more paranoid than I am about parking too close.

Little extra walking does a body good. I even park far in the back when I have my daily, just to get the extra steps in.

All the time, I won't even take my car to some locations if they don't have plenty of open parking

I suuuure do. My rule of thumb is "if you aint go no space to do donuts, then u should not park here."

Guilty. Most people don't give a crap about their cars and they sure don't give a crap about you're car. My wife feels the same way, but my daughters always gripe.

Yep. I've never been one for door dings but I'm even more careful with my Camaro. Besides, I'm not exactly what you would call a small guy so I need to open the door pretty much all the way to easily get in and out. As wide as the Camaro doors are, not much room to open them in a standard parking spot with someone right next to you.
