Removing dent
I've purchased this dent removal product from amazon (out for delivery today).
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Before I actually go through with removing the smallish dent (maybe 2" diameter?), anyone have any advice/experience I should hear? I've never used a tool like this to remove a dent before, but I can't reach this one from the inside to push it out. I'm even tempted to just leave it or maybe find a body shop locally willing to pop it for $50. Thoughts? |

Depending on where its at and how severe a local paintless dent repair guy would charge you anywhere from $50 - $150... but even if its on the high side you're going to see a better result that you would from something like that tool.
I'd say cancel the amazon order and shop for a qualified local PDR guy.

I would strongly suggest not using it, if it pulls the dent out too far you'll end up what is know as an oil can affect....and you don't want that. You own a 2014 Camaro not an old clunker, have it fix properly or leave it as is. JMO

I tried that once on an older car. It'll take the majority of the dents out if they are large enough, but you'll still notice the indentations. Also, this involves using hot glue on the paint.
I had two dings on my door right on the crease. Had a PDR guy take car of it for $150 and you would never be able to tell its there! Took him all of 10 minutes.

that tools uses the actually panel for leverage...it applies pressure to the panel...which will cause low spots on the panel while trying to remove the dent...

Okay, I'll toss the remover aside for another car/time. Not like the glue goes bad.
![]() Thanks everyone for the input, you confirmed what I suspected! |

if you own a Camaro with the thin sheet metal your going to need a PDR guy, mine is Keith, got his number handy all the time. got four taken out off a trunk about two weeks ago, have some other faint ones along the top of the front wheels he will be taking out some time in late June. 75 for the trunk and 100 later in June. well worth it

They will get access to the inside of the panel, either thru an existing hole, bolt hole, or other opening. They'll use long bars with different tips and hammers on them to work the dent out. Its really cool to watch and takes a fair amount of skill. This is the guy I use here locally in CO... super good at what he does. http://www.dentsbyhand.com/
