2015 Cadillac CTS-V 625 HP
How can Chevy have the 2014 ZL1 super sports car that currently has 580 HP versus the 2014 CTS-V 562 HP not have MORE than the 2015 CTS-V 625 HP for 2015? Thus I think the 2015 zl1 will have at least 625 HP but probably 650 HP.
I saw the information on the caddilac.com website under Future Vehicles this morning and a friend too then when I went back to it an hour later I could not find the page- very strange. But I clearly saw and read it several times and it stated three engine options for the 2015 CTS with the third producing 625 horsepower, that blew me away. I did find another website that stated in the future the cts-v might produce 625 HP, thus, what I saw was real. All is my opinion. Unless Chevy ups the zl1 HP in 2015 I just might get the cts-v with 625 HP but I think it will have 625 HP.

Chevy isn't going to up the horsepower on the ZL1 for the final year of the C5 model. They are going to wait for the 2016 C6 version, which more then likely will have the new LT-1 engine that is in the current C7 Corvette. The ZL1 will likely take the same route as the Z06 (with less power...maybe), which is currently being shown at 625hp as well.
If you want the CTS-V, go for it. But again they are not going to up the power for 2015 on the ZL1.

Not...happening...let...it...go. The CTS-V is also getting a redesign for 2016. Anything major is NOT happening in 2015...just like nothing major is happening to the Camaro in 2015. Wait for 2016 or beyond.

What I read clearly stated three engine types for CTS in 2015 with the last engine being 625 HP and this happens to be the last year for CTS-V and apparently they are upping the horsepower so why not the ZL1 too? I think they will!
I would not have believed what I read since I can not find it again on the Cadillac.com website but a friend was in my office and he saw it too. They must have mistakenly uploaded that page for a few minutes.my opinion. I might be wrong but if so it was from what I read in black and white. That's all I can say. Quote:

Read the website I just posted above. Nothing is happening in terms of power changes for the CTS-V in 2015. It is the last year for the current model. It is getting the same 556 hp LSA it has always had. And, as we told you in your other thread on the same topic, the only 2015 ZL1 changes will be color choices. Capiche?

One last post to try and make you see the light. Here is the 2015 Camaro order guide: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=352604
It states a new blue color and foot well lighting are NEW. If you can get more horsepower from either of those...well, good luck.

Even the 500 special edition CTS-V for 2015 aren't getting a hp bump. It's a wait and see what 2016 brings. I wonder if they will continue to make the ZL1.

But if it was on the internet then it must be true.

I know what I saw, and no it was not a blurry picture, it had on the Cadillac website under future vehicles 2015 cts-v with 625 HP for the third engine option. My opinion since I cannot find the web page again but fortunately I had a friend who saw it too.

I'm happy for Cadillac and GM power, in that we're advancing against the likes of Mercedes and BMW. With that said, I am also happy that I bought the ZL1 when I did, as it allowed me to have a sample of big power from the showroom. I saw the writing on the wall last year when the z/28 was introduced, in that the current ZL wasn't getting anymore power.
If the next premium camaro receives more power (to match the next cts-v), then you can believe that it will probably be priced higher than the $55k base price of the current ZL. At this time, no one but GM knows if it will actually happen. Edit: I think that the 620+ hp is a speculative number for the next generation CTS-V (which is on the way), not the current one.

if it was on a web site for FUTURE vehicles, isn't it possible that it was a 'prediction' and not necessarily a fact?
I guess we won't know for positive sure, until the official order guide for 2015 CTS-V's is released. but the order details for the 15 ZL1 HAVE been released and no mention at all of a power increase. |
