Something coming out of my Exhaust

So I am doing a walk around on my ZL1 and see something sticking out of one of my exhaust tips. It looked like some sort of hair. I tried pulling it out, but it was in there good. I am thinking its part of the baffles inside my muffler, so I take it to the dealer. The Service Manager thought it was a dead animal or (he really said this) Horse Hair. I was like, how in the hell would horse hair get into my exhaust system...lmao. He managed to pull some out and he really thought it was horse hair. He showed it to another manager who pulled out a magnet and the fibers stuck to it. He said, Yip its packing from the exhaust...Got a new one on the way...What a day..

my car did it and after a few strands came out there has never been another problem. I did not take mine to the dealer.

happened to me a few weeks ago. getting a new exhaust system. Pulling out the strands is not good enough. take a flash light and take a good look inside the muffler. my dealer mentioned it was the second time he saw this happen in his working career. he believes my zed is growing a beard for the hockey finals.

Yeah they ordered a new one for me. Oddly enough, I had taken the car to a muffler shop and was going to do an exhaust delete. I had talked to them on friday and he ordered the stuff he said I needed. Well when he got it up on the lift, he said....Well this is a totally different set up then the SS is. He said he did not order the right stuff to do it and when he started looking, he could not find just the "Mufflers". Everyone wants to sell a whole system, so it was going to go from 350.00 to do what I wanted to about 1000.00 and that was just his cost on a full cat back...I did not want to do that. I'll buy headers and have them installed for that kind of dough.

I came into this thread fully expecting a good video of your car revving and making a bunch of noise.

I think this just happened to me this past week.

Going to see if I can pull the "stuff" out and just roll with it.

^that's what I did a few months ago!....I don't really think there's a need for a new exhaust, might be just a little louder without the "horse hair" but at this point it really doesn't matter!
