Electronic Power Steering (EPS) issue
Ok. Need some advice or if somebody else has had reoccurring issues. I have a 2013 1LE and at 800 miles the EPS went out. The part was replaced at the dealer. There is a completely different part number and the previous one was discontinued. I thought that meant they either went with another vendor and or made some updates. I heard of people with the ZL1 that had issues with it also. I get in my car yesterday to leave work yesterday afternoon and the service power steering image is on again. EPS not working. I am at 8K miles. I have not had it on the track. No donuts or extreme driving. Just mild driving on the road. Nothing close to what it is suppose to be capable of. I call the dealer to drop in off. Then turn the car off and on about four times. The last time the Service EPS goes off. Drive to the dealership no issues. Currently waiting to hear back from them. This is something that is very unsafe. Thoughts or info please.

I have the Gen 1 Delphi EPS system in my '04 Malibu... which I think they just opened a recall recently. LOL
normally I think it's just sensor issues. If the sensors act up intermittently, it trips codes and you get the message and maybe the system is disabled. It should have stored the code even if the light went off. They should get it fixed. |

There are quite a few threads on this here. I'm glad to hear a new part # is issued. Maybe they found the cause.

I see the recall on the other vehicles. I have two issues with this. The first one is this is something that can cause make you lose control and low speeds and cause and accident. The second is I bought my car brand new. The first issue that I had was at 800 miles. Not about 9 months and less than 8k miles later I have the same issue. I want to know how they are going to reassure me that it is not going to happen again. Oh by the way I have a 2010 Acadia that has recall on it also. I am really thinking of trading in my GM vehicles. I also have an Avalanche. They are losing loyal customers. They better start putting out a better product.

Thanks for your reply. I picked my car up yesterday. The dealership could not replicate the problem and there was not any codes left in the computer for the Tech to work with. They cleaned the connections off. Checked the ground also. Just going to have to drive it.
