Right Rear Speaker acting flaky

Okay, need advice from some really smart people. I have a 2012 2SS Convertible with the Boston Acoustics speakers. I replaced the head with a Metra/Kenwood DNX9990. The audio shop is top notch. Used the factory speakers and I believe wiring.

First problem was that the rear speakers didn't work after my dealer mucked around with my dash (search for the bubbling under front vents problem here and you'll see). Went back to my audio guy and he went over the box and plugged in the wires again.

Next and continuing issue: if I have a passenger or I go over a bump my right rear speaker suddenly plays WAY louder. Also, I've noticed some static from time to time coming through it.

I suspect the wiring near the speaker is loose since the head unit wiring was already solved. My audio guy may be reluctant to look at it for me since it's factory installed speakers. I do NOT want my Chevy Dealer to touch the car again since they screwed up my dash.

How hard is it to pop off the cover to the speaker and check? When it gets louder, if I hit the auto mute on the steering wheel and go back to normal or turn up the volume so the front speakers match, then I can go back to a normal listening volume.
