Random misfire cause exhaust to sound bad?
Hey guys so I recently took of my high flow cats and put some LT headers on
It sounds like it has a leak underneath but it doesn't and just sounds not to good. So I checked the codes just to see and random misfire came up didn't get the code number but erased it to see if it comes back or maybe it was while the cats were on. Also had code for being too lean also didn't get the number down will check again later to see if they come back Would any of that cause the exhaust to sound bad? When I step on it in 3rd or 4th it sounds very fluttery Thx for any advice I'll try updating with any codes that come up other then the normal bank 2 o2 sensor

Random misfire is a P0300 unless it was a manufacture code.
Misfires can sound like... well.. misfires. If you had a lean code then you have a lean misfire. Check for vacuum leaks or exhaust leaks in front of the O2 sensors. If you were messing with exhaust you probably have an exhaust leak, but I don't know how that can cause a misfire code unless the new Camaros are using O2 sensors to detect misfires but I really doubt it. You usually have an O2 sensor code? If the sensor is bad that can cause the lean code for sure |

if its a misfire I would also check to make sure you didn't crack any of your spark plugs duing the header install. Also make sure all the plugs are snapped on.

Took the spark plugs off during header install and made sure they all snapped twice when putting plug back on

You may need to retune the car cause of the headers. You will throw codes for sure if you didn't turn the rear o2 sensors off. Headers can change a lot of things and if you have a handheld tuner it may not be enough. JMO

Thx for the replies guys, I'll prolly end up just buying some spark plugs and change them then if anything prolly just wait till I tune it
