Review of Buff&Shine microfiber pads.

Overall: cutting 10/10

Polishing 10/10

Value: 10/10 for both

Ease of use: 10/10 microfiber pads are really easy

Cleaning: 11/10 really easy to clean with compressed air or your standard microfiber towel.

As most people know microfiber pads are easier to clean than foam pads. Microfiber cutting pads also cut much better than any foam pad I've ever used. I've only ever used microfiber pads for cutting previously, but now I have used the B&S microfiber polishing pads and they are great. I used compressed air to clean each pad after every pass and one pad lasts the entire motorcycle I used it on.

The microfiber cutting pads I had used previously where the red meguires microfiber cutting pads. The foam is thinner and the nap is about the same length, so they have slightly more cut simply because the foam backing is thinner than the B&S pad, allowing you to transfer more energy to the surface you are working.

With that said you would have to be working on something just absolutely horrid to need more cut than the B&S cutting pad provides.

I'll show you a saddle bag on the motorcycle I worked on yesterday. I used m105 with the cutting pad, and m205 with the polishing pad. The one scratch in the lower left hand corner would have definitely needed to be wetsanded. The is by far and away the worst paint I've ever worked on. The amount of depth and shine that was restored was amazing. It looks like a completely different color afterward

.

I have a stack of the B&S mf pads. I also find they are easy to clean and extremely durable. I do often find a need for more cut so the Megs remain my primary pad.

You must work on some incredibly bad vehicles or prefer compounds with less cut!

B&S pads are very nice - my only gripe has been the tendency to delaminate on the Rupes tools (specifically the 21) after only a few runs. Can't say I'm surprised though given the size of the movement and the height of the pad. Thats a lot of stress to put on that backing for any reasonable amount of time.

I may or maynot currently be in possession of pads for testing that will remedy this issue though

Hmmm, well I only own two Pc's but I look forward to trying your whole line of paint correction supplies.

I have some test pads that look promising from a well known company. These could give Rupes foam a run for their money.

I seem to get a lot of trashed cars and trucks. I use a lot of M100.M101.D300, fg400 , HD Adapt , Amerirocks etc.

Very cool. I've never used m101. I've heard that's a hard compound to master, do you feel like that is correct?

It has a learning curve like any heavy cut compound. To me every day is a learning day with various products , machines and paint conditions found on customers cars.
