Hard-top SS is roughly 3400 pounds. They are a light nimble car, lots of suspension mods to get it going quick.

The diet isn't terrible, but a lot of the stuff is already plastic, it's mostly the usual interior gut to save about 150?

I'd say you can probably get the car to 3200 easy and keep it streetable.

Here is how much my 2000 SS weighs with me in it. I have done a few small things to save weight but nothing major before this was done. The pavement was a little lumpy so it is showing a right front bias.

You can strip the carpeting too and save some weight.

If you'd like to pay to lose some weight. At $150 the Midwest Chassis Bumper Support loses it in a great spot!

The stock bumper support is 20lbs… MWC is 3-5lbs.

They also make a rear support. Savings are the same.

The entire A/C system is maybe 45lbs, smog pump and hoses can be around 15-20lbs…

Of course, this stuff is all gearing towards a track/drag car.
