Oil Temps Update / Bumpy track report

80-90 ambient today, sunny, oil temps on track averaged 255-260 with one time hitting 280 for a few minutes. I'm perfectly fine with that. It's broken in now so I was testing it out and winding it to redline in every gear and holding it at close to redline at the ends of the straights.

The A/C cutoff *due to engine temp* never activated, as it did on the 100-108 ambient track day.

15W-50 oil
Rain deflector removed
Coolant drained and replaced with distilled water and one qt Water Wetter.

Based on these observations, as far as I am concerned engine temps on track are a non-issue. People should expect to see 280+ oil temps on 100+ ambient track days. But seriously, any car is going to see high oil temps in those conditions.

Job well done Chevy engineers.

PS- The car does not like bumpy tracks, far too stiffly sprung. Can't keep it hooked up and it's punishing to the driver and the car. Sebring for example will not be a good track or lap time for a Z/28. Unfortunately my home track is now a disaster and no longer usable until they repave the damn thing. Smooth tracks it's a joy. An observation, not a complaint, ideally you tune a car to a specific track, bumpy tracks need softer springs and softer compression on the dampers to keep the tires hooked up.

Nice report. Based on your comment about rough tracks, the Carousel at the Nordschleife must have been absolutely brutal for the test drivers...

Agreed. Hey, can we PLEASE get a photo of your predictive lap timer installation?
