Auto Camaro SS?

Thinking of trading my GT in for a Auto Camaro SS. The thing is the stock dyno #'s are kind of surprising. Does anyone have some decent dyno #'s from and auto? I have seen them as low as 305 and torque under 300.

Some of the auto's are slow, some of them are not, its a coin flip. Why not eliminate it and go with the manual.

The auto's consistently put a fair bit less power to the wheels than the manuals. They start off 26 hp down, and then lose more through the auto tranny. I think it works out to an average of being down about 50 rwhp. On the other hand, the gearing in 1st makes up for this difference.

Hmm, well off the top of my head it could be a bad knee, big slog through stop and go traffic every day, wants consistency at the drag strip, can't drive a manual, wife cant drive manual, wants better fuel economy, prefers paddle-shifting ... or any number of other things.

Well I read that the Autos are faster out of the box, and I am sure a good driver could peform as well as a manual.

I also like the technology has to offer with an Auto. I am finding that I am driving this car more even some days to work because my Yukon is killing me in gas.

I can see why people like manual because they might be more fun. I like using the tapshift and sports mode and it makes you feel like you are driving a manual, imo.

Yes, I've driven stick before, I could master it, but I am loving the performance of the Auto. Maybe my next Sports car will be manual, but it really doesn't matter to me either way.

If you can drive a manual and like them then I'd definitely go with it. Auto is kind of a crapshoot right now.

GT, I am assuming you are driving a stick now as I think that's the only way mustang GT's are available? Judging by where you live I also am assuming you drive in plenty of traffic? Sucks in traffic. A manual transmission's "fun" wears of long before the payments. Any anomalies in HP can be worked out, but you won't be upgrading to an auto later. I put on 60,000+ miles a year between all my vehicles, many of them are in Chicago traffic. Think about tomorrow because it ain't gunna take long for the "new" to wear off!

My L99 is great! Vin in sigline. There are only a couple that show a problem, and GM is taking care of it. I'd go for the L99 again. This thing is a BLAST! and with the L99, you've got auto AND Tapshift. Best of both!
