Post Hertz Audio question.

Ok so I have been reading a lot about the car and the factory B.A. I want to install a Hertz ML3000 here are the tech specs for this speaker.

Size 300mm (12inch)
Comp Subwoofer
Sensitivity 89dB/SPL
Power handling 1500W peak, 750W continuous
Frequency response 25Hz -900Hz
Impedance 4 Ohm

http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/default_en.htm

I was also looking at getting a Hertz Amp to power this sub the amp that I am looking at is the Hertz EP 2 X 700w amplifier here are the tech specs for the amp.

Channel Model 2-1
Output power
(RMS @ 14.4 VDC, THD 1% 220W x2 (4oms)
700W x1 (4oms)
350W x2 (2oms)
Distortion- THD (100Hz@4oms) 0.05%
S/N Ratio (A weighted @ 1v) 100dB
Dampening Factor (100 Hz@4oms) 130
Size (mm) 240 x450 x54

http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/default_en.htm

Ok now that is out of the way here is the brass of my question. Is this amp strong enough to push that woofer or do I need to go to a higher rated one? Also will the factory head unit be able to handle this? If it is can some one tell me where I can buy these I have been looking online and have not been able to find a place that sells them. I live in Yuma, AZ is there a sound shop in SD that can do the install on a camaro I don’t really trust any place in Yuma to do it right. all of this would be put into a 2LT thanks for any help.

Or should I just go with something else any ideas? Just looking for some tight base that completes the sound field but that can also put out some mad bass from time to time. How about polk any one have luck with them?

I can't comment on that specific speaker, but I love my Hertz components. I don't hear as much about their sub's as I do about their comps and coaxs though.

Honestly, I think you should look into other car audio brands.

Anyway, what you should be searching for is an amplifier
capable of providing the "continuous power" rating the drivers
will undeniably demand.

The sub you've chosen is rated 750W continuous power,
so the amp you've selected is just fine for a bridged mono setup.
This means that you can not later add another subwoofer
to the same amplifier if so desired.

Also, the head unit will be independent of the amplifier, providing
little more than the signal to amplify.

Don't push the amp too hard, and your system will stay peachy.

Read up, and good luck!
