Rear lights when wipers are used
Just noticed today that when the wipers are being used, and the headlights come on automatically, the tail lights do not come on. I was driving home in a monsoon and could barely see the car in front of me except for the tail lights. Maybe this is standard with all cars but it seems to me the tail lights are every bit as important as the head lights in low visibility conditions. Anyone agree or disagree?

Agree with you. In low visibility conditions I think the tail lights are even more important of the headlights!
Do not know if it is the European configuration but my tail lights come on together with the headlights. No matter if it is dark or it is raining (daylight + wipers on), they just follow the headlights. |

There's an indicator on the cluster that your taillights are on. Right dial, around 1-O'clock.

I would guess it wasn't dark enough outside for the automatic sensor to turn on the headlights/taillights, if the switch is set to automatic. Are you sure it was your headlights on, and not the drl's?

The lights come on automatically when the wipers are used after a certain time.
