2SS RS question

I am just making this clear to myself. If I get an SS2 with the RS package the only extra features that I am getting from the RS option is the HID headlights, Halo's, different taillights, and red inside of decals.

and the striping on the roof to color match your car color normally its just black. Oh and I think the top of the bumper on the front below grill color matches as well vs. black I think

Unless I missed something they don't offer any striping on the roof.

That's what I thought, trying to decide if I want to spend the extra $1200 for headlights and some dark taillights.

Thanks .

The RS package is worth it for the headlights alone. Those headlights look so great with just the halo's lit up. Go for it!

If I remember correctly way back when I ordered, the RS package has the HID headlights; halos, body color roof ditch molding, darker tail lights, rear spoiler and midnight silver 20" rims. If some of those items are already included in a car package, then the price of those are subtracted from the standard RS package price.

An aftermarket halo kit alone is going to run you close to $200. A full factory installed HID system with correct HID housing is worth $1000; especially since it's fully warrantied. The darker tail lights look nice but it's an easy mod if that's all you want; just paint the inside of the housing like the factory does for the RS tail lights. The body color roof ditch molding won't make much of a difference on black or IBM cars, but on every other color it will look much nicer than the black moldings. SS's already have the spoiler so that reduces the price of the package. The midnight silver wheels would look nice if they were darker like the "build your own" website showed originally but they'll be nicer than the standard wheels.

I thought it was worth it just for the lights alone. I'm going to get aftermarket wheels anyways so I'll just sell or trade-in my midnight silvers.

i did not spring for the RS package on my 1SS and I don't regret it. Yah, my buddy has it on his and it does look cool... but not worth 1200 dollars. Just get a sunroof for 900 dollars instead!!

Thanks for the info man, I didn't know that they reduced the price for the RS package depending on what model you get.
