Window tinting price
I am looking at getting my windows tinted. Back 3 limo, front 2 30%. Im calling around getting quotes near Roseville CA but everything seems to be in the $250 range which seems really high to me. Plus they want $60-$120 to remove the tint that is on there. Someone tell me I'm wrong but $350 out the door sounds like a lot?
Maybe I can remove whats on there myself? Thanks for the help guys. |

I was quoted $199 for the cheap 3 year warranty. They have different grades of tint -- I had 30% on the sides and 20% on the back (Texas has a max of 25% on the sides).
I got the ultra uv with lifetime product and labor -- paid $350 for that installed. In Texas, the uv ultra really works well! So, the $250 is in the ballpark -- removal not sure -- never had to have that done... |

$125 for the standard tint and $200 for the premium one (that I went with) at the local and popular tint shop. They commented that it was a little bit more difficult to do the back window on convertible (??).

Got mine done locally for 170, 35% front, 5% back. 3M, lifetime warranty. Then I removed my front tint myself(got cited) and he removed the glue for free, reapplied for $50.

I finally got it done yesterday. I paid $190 for 5% on the back 3, 20% on the front 2. The guy I used was AMAZING. He is a mobile guy from elk grove. Worked on my car for 4 hours yesterday is coming back today to redo a window he isn't happy with. I think it looks perfect but they insist on redoing the window. I was nervous to having someone work on my car but these guys care more than I do. Blew my mind. Sorry, I was just really impressed. But anyway seems like the going rate is about $200, which is what I paid.

I paid $219 for the back three 20% and the sides 35%.
Best quality 3M, applied perfectly about a week after I got the car in December of 2012. Went to Cal Coast Glass Tinting in Santa Barbara. I plan on going back soon and getting the 35% taken off and 20% put on. I should have just done that from the start. 20% all around looks best on our cars.
