Window Scraping

My driver's side window has developed a long vertical scrape along the entire heigh of the window. I assume something inside of the door is scratching it when I put the window up and down. Anyone have this problem too?

Also, if anyone out there in the Plano/Richardson area of DFW can recommend a good service dealership I would appreciate it. I took my last car to Reliable Chevrolet and I'll be damned if I ever set foot back there, what a fiasco. Anyone have experience with Huffines Plano or Stonebriar Chevy?

I don't have a scratch, but I do have a long white streak that goes from top to bottom. I can wipe it off, but as soon as the window goes down again, it's there.

I've tried to look inside the jam to see what's causing it, but I can't see it.

Got a pic of it? I just want to see where the scratch is.

Hell it could have seen a piece of sand between the rubber and a the window.

Sorry to hear about your problem.

I get a long strip of white grease as well.. obviously caused by excess grease on the gears inside the window. It hasn't stopped yet nad I cleaned it about 40 times! heh

Yup, just excess lube/grease.

Me too, Vertical grease mark just behind the drivers mirror. It should clear up in a year or two.

On the service request, I'm near ElDorado Chevy in Mckinney and they have always treated me well for service, so you may want to try there. Now sales wise I will keep my opinions to myself, I did buy my 07 Tahoe there but am purchasing my Camaro from Classic.

Same with me, it scared me at first since I had the windows tinted and thought there was an actual scratch but just a smudge mark so far, just annoying .

sounds like some lithium lube... you can remove the door panel and wipe the back side of the regulator if you don't feel like taking it to the dealer..

ok, i have it too...but its not grease...i tried wiping it, using glass cleaner, ect....no luck. So i decided to see if a razor blade would scape it off and the blade gets stuck in the groove, so its not grease, its an actual scratch. its closer to the handle end of the door. its not very noticable, but i notice it and for what the car cost, i shouldnt have a scratch on the glass with less than 5000 miles on it. anyone else have a SCRATCH and not just grease?
