Vmax Ported TB and Ice-olator install

I ordered the Ported TB and Ice-olator through JDP, and started the instal today. While I have the intake off, I'm going to modify it a bit, then powder coat it.
I started a different thread asking what the "wings were for on the intake. Turns out all they do is hold the back of the engine cover down. Since I'm going "naked", I don't need them.

Here is the factory center cover(?) removed. Made in Mexico? That has to go!

Dremel to the rescue! I cut the wings off, then buzzed down all but the lettering that matters, then went back over it with a surfacing disc on my right angle grinder.

Here she is ready for powder coat. I'm going to try and mimic the rally stripes on the cover, and the intake itself will be all black.

Here's a shot of the intake powdered. I didn't bother smoothing the texture out. It wouldn't taken forever!

One thing to remember is bolt placement. The for middle bolts are the same, and the front and rear bolts are each unique sizes. I layed them out next to the appropriate location, and I'll drop them into the intake one at a time. Also, each bolt has a plastic sleeve. Two came out with the bolts, the rest I had to carefully pull out with a pick.

Forgot to show the throttle bodies. Here is old and new side-by-side. You can tell the difference in the first pic. there used to be a big step in the tube, but now it's a smooth transition. Also, notice all of the oil on the back of the throttle body from BEFORE my catch can install.

Thanks Tyler. Just waiting for the intake to cool from the second bake cycle, and she'll be in!

Here is the Ice-olator in place, with grey permatex for the top seal. Factory gasket stays on the bottom.

Here she is out of the oven!

You can see the top shines a bit more do to the smoother texture.

And here it is all back together. The Vararam intake fits about the same, though some say it fits better. Once the permatex sets, I'll start it up, and go for a run.
