Titanium cat-back exhaust group buy

I just spent several minutes talking to Patrick at Litespeed. If there is significant interest he is willing to set-up group buy for complete titanium 3" cat back exhaust. He will build yours with whichever tips you want SS, ZL1. His anticipated cost is $2500. He estimates the full cat back exhaust will weigh about 25 pounds. Stock system is around 70 pounds and 2 1/2". It will take him about 45 days to fabricate all of the systems once the trigger is pulled. PM me if you are interested. Here is a link to his web site.

I have looked at all of the 3" systems from Corsa, B&B, and Magnaflow. They average about $1500 and are made of stainless steel. At best they weigh twice what the Ti does, sometimes closer to the stock, almost 3 times the weight of titanium. When it comes to serious weight shedding things start getting expensive, I was thinking that the $2500 price for a dual exhaust was pretty good....titanium stock is much more than twice as expensive as stainless.

$2500 for titanium is a great price. If I hadn't just spent $1,000 on the SW system I would be in.

Some people really like the sound of titanium exhaust because the metal does not reverberate like steel, if you tap it with another metal it gives a tick rather than a ring. Some say the engine sound is more true coming from titanium pipes.

As far as I'm concerned it is all about the weight, well that and it is going to be 3" so it will have a lot less backpressure than the stock 2 1/2. Less weight more power, big power to weight gain.

That's not a cat-back, that's an axle back.

That would be a mod I would do, eventually. That and swap rims for lighter ones. Looks awesome... since it's titanium can you request what color you want? Red tips might be cool!

The axle back is $1000. If you use the drop down and select cat-back it jumps to $1400.

Same here. $2500 puts heads on the car.

Interesting. $1400 I'd consider, depending on the sound.
