will belt slip be an issue

I am going to be upgrading to a blower cam and then OD cog setup on the rear of my Maggie I want to run around 8-10# of boost once I swap cams so I think I will be using either a 3.8 or 3.6 from pulley with OD rear so my question is with these larger pulleys still getting good belt wrap and lower boost 10 or less will I have an issue with belt slip?

I would say your gonna see belt slip. I have a innovators west 8 rib setup complete with a jre super tensioner for sale. Has 300 miles on it. $1500 for complete kit with 3.2 pulley.

I'm running a cam, OD cogs with a 3.6 front pulley and the JRE tensioner and have not had any problems.

You shouldn't have much, if any belt slip.

Tensioner would be nice but you have max belt wrap so you'll be fine. I spun a 3.4 6 rib with no slip.........10.5 psi (stock cam).

You shouldn't, but you could step it up to a green fleet runner belt if you do, they stretch less.

We run this combo with JRE cam, 3.6 pulley, overdrive cog for 10-11 psi with JRE supertensioner and no belt slip.

Without the JRE supertensioner belt slip will be a problem.

Ted.

Belt Slip

I ran nearly the same set-up and had belt slip until I installed the JRE tensioner.
