Auto indexing is really for keeping the car solid after you close the door and increasing the life of the rubber weather stripping on cars with frameless doors.

Think of all the old cars with frameless doors. When you shut them, they didn't do a very good job of sealing. The weather stripping would get worn, leaks, and wind noise.

non indexing windows are the easiest thing to break into since a 83 f-150. (use to work for AAA) a C5 vette is retarded easy to get into. a porche boxster is retarded hard. and it seals up alot better and alot quieter

Yup.... just ask anyone who owned a mid-80's G-body (Regal, Cutlass Supreme, Grand Prix, Monte Carlo).

Those cars were ALL in the national top ten stolen cars list untill the mid-1990s.

I know. My Mom's 1985 Regal was stolen. Twice. Before it had 20,000 miles on it.

Also when someone in the car passes gas and everyone scrambles out, it gives the interior a few extra seconds to air out.
