HELP! Dealership just damaged my car!!!

I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!!! I had my car in to have the supercharger replaced. They've had it a full week as of today. I just received a call from my service writer that they ran into another car backing it out of the stall. This is ridiculous! What are my options here? They said they would need it another week to fix it. I am beyond livid right now.

Sue for diminished value. I got it from the insurance company when a lady crashed into my GT500.

Come on, you are not going to get any "diminished value" for bumping into another car. Even if they replace the rear bumper cover. Besides, their insurance will cover it. It will not even show up on Carfax.

OP, let them fix it, go over it with a fine toothed comb when they are done with it. Also, make sure they put you in a rental car.

Come on? The dealership just wrecked his $65K ZL1. Minor or not if it shows on Carfax 3 months from now then you're going to take a hit on value. I would never buy a high performance car that had been in an accident.

I would NOT let that or any other dealer do bodywork on my cars. Seek the best shop in your area. My guy is Concours Auto Works. The name says it all

Get an estimate, get a cash payment from dealer and pay cash. No insurance, no Carfax, no diminished value

I wish it was only the bumper cover, that'd be easy. Unfortunately, it was a side-swipe type damage that made a mess of the passenger side quarter panel. I intend on letting them fix it, as otherwise, I would assume it would be showing up on Carfax if I ever sold it. They have a body shop on premise.

Let them fix it but do not accept it if it is not done right. As long as there has not been an accident report made by the cops it will not show up on any car fax report.I know it is bad luck for that to happen and it has happened to me but once it was fixed you could not see where it was even damaged.

The only way it will show up on a car fax is if it is a insurance claim I believe, Not a Police report.. So if they just did it in house out of their pocket you may get lucky. My biggest worry is color matching.. I would almost demand they paint the whole car together.. It will look good now then 10 years later the paints fade at different rates.. For a future collecter car it is a "diminished value" in my eyes

I had a scratch repaired on the rear quarter of a high end car. To do it right, they took off the door, removed the rear quarter glass and all trim. The entire quarter was refinished matching the factory orange peel. It was like it never happened. Color match was no problem. Having no blend or masking lines takes tallent. Cost $2000.

Yes looks great now and Just like I said 10 or 15 years later the paint fades at different rates and you can then tell it has been repaired. Some times the body shops will blend the paint all the way up to the ends of the car so they can minimize this effect years later.. Essentially putting the blended areas in parts of the car that are harder to realize that it has been blended.. In the collector car world original paint is way more desireable. A ZL1 is a potential collector car
