Dealership that wont break my keys

Anyone know a dealership that will complete some warranty work without taking my keys and breaking them for the stupid recall? Grey Chevrolet verified that my starter needs to be replaced, but they refused to do the work unless they also followed through with the warranty on the ignition.

I don't want 2 piece keys, I don't care if you think it's dumb that I don't want the recall done, I just need to find a dealer that will replace my starter and not take my keys...

Just tell them you want to sign the waiver that you don't want to do the recall when you take it in. That's what I did.

The first dealership said they don't have the waivers anymore. Another dealership is telling me that some Camaro's (based off the VIN) have that option and others don't...

GM says that the recall is optional, but the other side of the coin is that they will not do any warranty work on the car unless the recalls are up to date. So basically, GM is holding me hostage and not fulfilling their warranty because I am not wanting to take part in what they call an "optional" recall.

That is bs, its not GM its the dealer. Once you sign the waiver the recall is considered complete. My dealer said they have had every owner opt out of the recall so far.

Well the dealership keeps telling me they have to do it or else they are liable for anything that happens. They said that if they get the car for work, they would have to hold it and give me a rental until they had new keys cut for me.

I would love for that to be an option. I just need to find a dealership that will let me do that. I hate how they are all running differently. One would think that it should be virtually the same no matter where you go.

The only way I would know how to contact them is to call them out in a thread and hope they saw it. How do I contact them from here?

Thank you Angrybird 12!

Still, if anyone in the PNW knows a dealer that will get this done for me, in case I get nothing going this route, I would much appreciate a response.

Thanks!

I hate dealers like that. My dealer actually brought up the waiver before I had a chance to mention it.

You could try Chevrolet Of Puyllup (spelling). they asked me did I want to sign a waiver. I wanted the new keys so I had the recall done.
I do not about the warranty work that has to be done.
