How do I remove the deckoid spoiler?
How do I remove the decklid spoiler? The nuts are easy enough, but the wiring does not look so easy. Any help?

No experience with this but I believe the screws are hidden under the 4 plastic plugs on the under side.

There is no wiring... You have to remove the carpet piece somewhat to get to 2 nuts otherwise the other 4 nuts are under the rubber caps which can be removed easily......

How can there be no wiring with the third brake light in the spoiler?

never mind the wiring, it easy after the spoiler is off, there are 4 nuts to remove from the trunk and snap connectors 1 at each end and 1 on each side of the light. once you removed the four nuts the only way to get the snaps off is to pry the spoiler up with a sturdy plastic tool, you have a 90% chance that they will break but you'll need new ones anyway, hope that helps

Next question is why? ZL1s have beautiful spoilers.

Unfortunately Chevrolet put zero thought into the spoiler for the ZL1 vert.

Nothing wrong with the spoiler. The decklid has a few light scratches in the clearcoat adjacent to the spoiler and they will just be easier to buff out with the spoiler off.

When I fitted my Carbon Fiber rear spoiler, I managed to get a pair of long needle nosed pliers onto those dopey plastic clips and un wound them.
By doing this I didn't break them ( important when you are on the other side of the planet from your nearest Chevy dealer...) Cheers
