2015 SS No drip tray??
I apologize in advance if this is a reoccurring thread, just couldn't find any info on it....
I have seen multiple 2014s with the hood vents and the radiator water drip tray. Just got a 2015 and if does not have the water tray to take the water away from the radiator. Was this a production change???

That is interesting... They are two parts. You would possibly get better heat extraction without it, but more water on the engine cover.
Regular SS trim, or did you get a 1LE? In case it is different on a 1LE, but I thought they all had the drip tray. |

Its just 1SS not 1LE. Took a look at a 14 they have on the lot...no drip tray, but a friend of mine with a 14 1SS has the drip tray. Build dates are ~4mnts apart. Talked with the dealer, they looked up the part catalog for the VIN and said its not in the catalog...
My concern is Im in Florida and it rains a large amount....don't want water dumping in the fans and all.

Good point about Florida rains. There is a thread on here where some have added the '14 and up heat extractor hood on a 10-13 Camaro using the parts. There were two part numbers I think. I will look for that thread. On the plus side, if you go forced induction like a Maggie, or the SLP Supercharger, you won't have that as a clearance issue. |

Found it...
GM 2014 Heat extractor (GM Part # 22828242) Optional- GM- Water Deflector (GM Part # 23180572) Might give those numbers a try on a GM parts search page and see what it comes up with. Should be right from the other thread I found. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...extractor+hood |

Ok think were a little confused... the heat extractor is the actual scoop. And the water deflector is the part under the vent that collects all the water and dumps it into the radiator area....the deflector (from what I have seen) dumps onto a tray that is mounted to the radiator. That tray "flows" the water across the top of the radiator and dumps it off the sides. Im looking for that tray....I have the heat extractor and the deflector you listed.
Get what im saying??

Oh, I thought you meant the drip tray on the extractor... Yea, I get it now. Not sure if that changed or not.

That's what it's looking like. Actually there's a break in the rain and I've had a chance to look. What it looks like is the tray under the vent is now farther forward. And dumps the water into a little valley that is on the front side of the radiator, that seems to funnel the water away. I'll have to check it out more when it's light out. But looks like they've redesigned it a bit...

My '14 Spring Edition has the tray on the hood but no radiator piece.

My '14 has both. Mine was built 11/29/13 though. May have been a mid model change.
