Stock ZL1brake pads on the track?

I signed up for a track day this weekend, which I planned to attend in my Z06. However, the Vette was waiting on parts that didn't arrive, so I am planning to take the ZL1.

Are the stock pads up for the job? There is only one long straight at the local track that doesn't have good run-off. I expect the zl1 will be at about 140 mph there and will have to slow to 60mph for the turn. I plan to lift early if the brakes are a problem. Thanks for any advice.

Tony

The pads are fine. It's the brake fluid that you should change. If it's your first time the stock set up will get you through. Remember it's not a race. Have fun and take some video.

Yeah, definitely swap out your brake fluid to Dot4 which will withstand higher brake temperatures and remove brake fade. I use Motul RBF600. You will need three bottles for a flush.

Hope you enjoy it.

Agree with others change the fluid, stock pads won't give you problems, especially if you are on stock tires, but they take a lot more pedal pressure than some of the racing pads out there. Have fun!
