Thinking of switching from a V8 to a V6
A couple months ago I was looking for a Camaro, specifically a2011 Synergy green one. I wasn't really wasn't really looking for an 2SS or 2LT. Anyway I found a dealer about 200 miles from home that had 2 on the lot. So I went there on a Saturday to look at them. Both cars cars were not taken very good care of. Both had about 30K miles. I thought if I was going to spend that much money I wanted to find one that had been babied by the previous owner. Tried to deal with them and they wouldn;t deal. As it turned out a lady in the same town had a 2011 SS Cybergray.19k miles LS3/ M6 2SS loaded. Beautiful car so I bought it. Thought i was happy with my purchase until last weekend when I saw a 2011 Synergy Green LT2/ RS on a used car lot. Beautiful, 16K miles.
Now, the problem is they want about the same price for it as I paid for my 2SS. And dont want to take abeating on mine. I think I could be happy with V6 since I not really a hot rodder and am not planning on a bunch of performance mods. All opinions are appreciated. Thanks in advance, Mike Last edited by Airguy; 10-06-2014 at 03:19 PM. Reason: add info |

Just paint your car Synergy Green and you have the best of both worlds.

Go buy the green one, then in a month you'll be back saying you want to buy another SS.

take it up there and see if they would work out a trade that makes sense.
Just don't start to think you'll be able to trade in the V6 for an SS later on.

O/p unless you are 75+ there is no way you will be satisfied. Yes you will kick yourself in the hind end if you go from an 8 down to a 6.

Have you driven a V6? I would suggest driving one before you decide.

I have a feeling you will experience some buyers remorse here...once you have gotten used to the V8 going down to the V6 might bother you. I'd go with the vinyl wrap or paint job route.

I would just paint it if you really wanted a specific color. You can even pick a different color and then be the only one with that color camaro,
I like synergy green but I think I'd get tired of it. Unless you really care about the MPGs or something it's not worth trading down maybe save the money keep the gray, and watch out for the 2016 camaros. you may fall in love with the 6th gen and end up doing yet another trade. |

Test drive the 2LT, then make your decision.
