ACS ZL1 insert

Just installed my ZL1 bumper, hood and ACS insert. When I tried to install the water deflector, it is hitting on part of the air box and hood will not close. Left it off for now, can someone tell me what I am missing?

The TL1 (ZL1 Insert) for the stock V6/V8 hood comes with a flat water deflector that should not hit. (Photo 1)

If you have the ACS ZL1 insert (the one for the OEM ZL1 hood) you have the ZL1 water deflector (2nd photo).

If you have the 2nd water deflector have you tried to remove your stock engine cover and see if it hits?

I had the ACS TL1 insert for the stock V6/V8 hood I had the ZL1 water deflector installed (see pic # 2 this is my hood) I had a slight rubbing against me OEM engine cover but it closed with no issues.

If you have the ZL1 water deflector and need the flat ACS one let me know I have mine I never used I can sell you cheap.

Thanks
Sean

That looks like a fiberglass ZL1 insert for the OEM ZL1 hood. That will not work due to the mounting pads on that insert it's made for the indents in the ZL1 hood. You need the actual TL1 insert fro ACS.

I have no clue on that it's a 50/50 shot the other thing you need is the mounting hardware and template to cut the hood.

Ur ZL1 ACS hood water drain should not be hitting anything. I had to trim mine because I had a Rotofab radiator cover that was the only issue. When I got my turbo I had to leave it off because it hit my down pipe. Still looked good.

Can someone tell me what I can use instead of a water deflector ? Can I make my own water deflector ? Or is there a way to cover the holes ? I have v6 so I don't care much about air flow just looks

You can do what ever you want they give you one to just deflect the water. If you need the TL1 ACS one (the one that comes with it) I have mine I never used (not the ZL1)
