Lately I have been dealing with a metal grinding noise when I slowly accelerate to about 1200RPMs, and it last until about 2200. I have taken it to the dealer several times and either I am told they are unable to duplicate the problem and cut me loose or I am told the noise is normal?!
and that it is the exhaust system. Well yesterday we (the owner of the car and I-->he bought it for me ) finally put it up on a lift and place it in drive with unlocked wheels. Turns out it was the rear differential. This vehicle hasn't been modified and is only 2 yrs old. Good thing is that the vehicle is still under 5yr/100,000 mile warranty. It's amazing that I have been dealing with this for almost the whole time I have owned this vehicle, not long, ![]() It's comical that I was told just yesterday that every car has this kind of metal to metal scraping noise and that it was the exhaust and is totally normal and it can't be fixed. Shame on them! Hope this helps someone if they are having similar noises. |
