5th Gen Sub Boxes and Other Audio Goodies

Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself here One of my customers turned me onto this site and it looks like we may be of service. In fact, I believe the system I just installed in my 2010 SS has already be posted on here. But that's what we do at ********. We design and build custom enclosures for cars and trucks too. We have been doing 4th gen boxes for about 10 years now so many of you may know us from those. Our first box design for the 5th gen camaro started shipping today. It houses two 10s, two 12s, or three 10s. We are just getting warmed up though and will have a lot more to offer soon. In addition to our boxes, we are putting together some nice add and amp kits so guys can easily add an amp to the factory sound system. We also carry subs and amps and some installation items. Some of our sub and amp packages can be found here http://www.********.com/edeals.htm. So if you are wanting to put a system in your 2010, give us a shout first. I'm certian we can save you some cash or at least save you from having some greasy guy trying to make a box in your trunk.

Oh yea, thought I'd post some pics since it's always more insteresting that way.

Here's the setup I did for my car to start things off. Might look familiar, it's everywhere already. It's simple, yet very effective and budget friendly.

This is how I have my amp mounted. Will probably make this into a nice amp rack when I get time.

Some R&D I did when making our amp kits and what mine looks like

Lastly, a pic of my own 2010ss which serves as our test car so you won't have to chance messing up yours or getting it full of saw dust to make a box. Plus this shows our product is genuine from a fellow enthusiast.

That's it for now. Hope we can help with your system install.

I'll be sure and keep you in mind in the near future and let you know what I'm looking for as far as a custom box!

I beat the hell out of a ******** box in my previous truck (02 Silverado Ext cab), and it stood the test of time (4 years installed, now 1 year in storage, waiting to be sold) with absolutely no wear.

While I won't be going the ******** route when I get my Camaro (trying to teach myself MDF and fiberglass installation), I stand wholeheartedly behind their products

I would be more interested in a side box. Any chance you work with fiberglass? I would prefer it.

+1 more for the side mount box.

Is the Line Out Conerter really needed for the Boston Acoustics system? From your web site it looks like you are hooking into the low level signal going into the factory amp. Why not just connect RCA cable directly to that signal?

+2 for the side box. Will it be a simple hookup for those of us that have to do it ourselves?

I doubt that is a low level signal. The way that the monsoon system in the 4th gen camaro worked was they took a regular head unit and ran the amplified signal (Speaker level) to the monsoon amp instead of directly to the speakers.

In other words the input to your BA amplifier is the same signal that goes to my speakers (I don't have BA). Not to worry, though...I am using a PAC line level converter on the rear signals and it sounds great (no noticeable distortion or interference).

I would be highly interested in a pair of side boxes, one on each side to fit Alpine's Type R subs (either 10" or 12" versions)

Unfortunately, there are no RCA jacks anywhere in the factory system you can just 'plug into'. So yes, a loc IS needed.
