Fuel dilution of lubrication oil

Fuel dilution of lubrication oil. I did a Blackstone Labs oil test. Every thing was good except I had 3% fuel dilution in the oil. It should be under 2% per there recommendation. Oil was red line 5w 30 and I had 2800 miles on the oil. Car has 15000 miles on it. Thoughts?

Do you run a catch can? If not I would think installation of one would help.

Possibly a fuel injector leaking down slightly? Not sure how a catch can could aid this issue. Other than it being connected incorrectly and not allowing the vapors to exit the crankcase.

Since you don't drive it much, how much time was on that oil?

Is their suggestion of the 3% fuel for a cammed car or a stock engine? I would think a cammed car will have slightly more fuel in the oil due to the increased valve lift and duration.

They recommend under .5 for a stock car

The first question you need to ask, did the file dilution cause the oil to decrease in viscosity?

Send a sample next time to oil analyzers... they have better testing equipment
