Engine powerloss. No CEL
Had an issue with CEL concerning my throttle body. Changed my battery, drove about 100 miles with no CEL. Pulling off the interstate car reads engine powerloss and my 3 traction control buttons on the right side come on.
Pulled over, shut the car off, turned it back on, and started to drive. Traction buttons went off and drove the remaining 20 miles home fine. Called onstar and did diagnostic and they had no readings for me. Anyone have any clue whats taking place? |

Could be so many things. But luckily you can check most of them in one shot in about an hour. So Im going to assume that you have a cold air intake if not the rules still apply. Unplug your negative connection from your battery terminal to make sure everything is shut down and you dont short circuit anything. Remove your MAF sensor from your intake. Make sure its disconnected. Set it aside. Take off your intake. Take of your throttle body. Using carburetor or throttle body cleaner clean everything BESIDES MAF SENSOR(you need MAF sensor Cleaner specifically). Just clean all the gunk out of the throttle body and your intake piping. Next clean your MAF sensor with the maf cleaner. Spray the connecting cables very good as well. Put it all together, reconnect your battery and take her for a spin. If this doesnt work. Look up the DIY for seafoaming your car, your valves may be covered in deposits. If there is any knocking sound ever coming from your car do not perform any of these steps and take it to the dealer/mechanic.

Damn dude. Next step. Change out spark plugs. Makes sure ignition coil packs look good. There is a DIY on changing spark plugs on here that someone made if you need help. |

Just read that you said throttle body CEL. Its known issue with our throttle bodies. Can find them cheap in junk yards.
