When using the tap shifter; should I shift gear keeping the gas pedal pressed as normal driving or should the gas pedal be briefly released (as when using manual transmission) just before shifting? What is the correct way to use the paddle/tap shifter? Thanks!
Ps: Haven't dared to use tap shift without releasing the gas pedal yet (seems wrong) and when using it and quickly releasing the gas to shift (as in manual) it doesn't go "right" hearing a slight "delay" like a slipping clutch, kinda... Hope I'm clear enough. Thank you a ton guys!!

I keep the pedal down, no need to lift at all. Have to find the sweet spot on when to shift for your car, just like a manual.

You can use them either way but, the original purpose is the driver to be able to hold your gear until you want to shift or redline and then tapshift with your foot still on the gas. The clutch is automatic.

As with a normal automatic transmission, letting off the gas and then back on as the gear is engaging can cause what sounds like slippage. While I've never seen it cause any damage, I can't imagine it's any good for the transmission.

Just keep your foot planted like you would with a normal automatic. The only thing the paddle shifters let you do is control when the gear shifts as opposed to doing it automatically. It's no different (as far as I know) than any other manual mode shifter in an automatic transmission.

It's still an automatic, so it controls throttle during shifts. Just keep your foot on the gas!
