Idiot of the week award goes tooooo...

Me!! This morning I was an idiot (nothing new) and backed out of the garage before the garage was all the way up. Luckily I only managed to hit the shark fin. Now it's kinda up lifted off the roof a little and I would love suggestions on how to get it to stick back on. What do I need??

Here's what it looks like..

Again, very lucky that's all I did..

if you didn't damage the roof, then you probably simply need to tighten it down..

the bolt is on the inside of the headliner. Not sure if it is worth the hassle to pull the back of the headliner down to fix it, but I suspect if you don't you may find water seeping into the roofline.

Do you not warm up your car before you leave?

In a hurry right?
Not so bad. A Buddy hooked his front bumper on the garage door rail. Couldn't close the garage door. It was his 87 Grand National.

Hopefully not.....grossly overrated old wives tale. Engines have less wear when all lubricants are up to operating temperatures. The engine will warm up much faster under a light load then it will warming up, and this less wear. I am not saying do full throttle shots on a cold engine, but slow driving is better than the no load warm up. To each his own....just my $.02.

I would look into getting some black silicon material rather than have to pull down the whole headliner. Does it feel loose?

I'm not talking about a 5 minute warm up. Just like 20-30 seconds until RPM's go under 1000 not have ur foot off the clutch already in reverse before taking your hand off the key lol

I let the start up rev go down but I keep the garage shut bc my neighbors are still asleep when I leave in the morning, so I opened it and backed out too early like a moron. It's not loose at all it just need to be pulled down..

HaHa , I did that one time too about 15 years ago, you got off lucky, I needed a new garage door. You can get the fin off without dropping the whole headliner, need to undo the back section and reach in there, if you broke the plastic fin, they are not too expensive, I bought one at the dealer to customize, they are around 48 bucks if I recall. Take it to a body shop and they can swap it out quickly. HOWEVER, the fin electronics matches the stock radio so see if they can take the guts out of yours and put in in the new plastic fin or you have to mess with teaching the radio and that may require a dealer.
