To Buy extended warantee or not

Just curious how many are buying extended warantee for their cars and tire/ wheel package. Mine isn't in yet but i have been considering getting the E/W. Any thoughts welcome.

I bought it but i went in to cancel it because I dont think i'll keep my car past 3 years. I hope to trade in in on a V8 or a converible when they come out.

It was offered but I didn't buy it. The finance person tried hard to sell it but conveniently forgot to mention that the drive train is covered by the factory 5 years or 50k miles (Ithink). He made it sound like the WHOLE car is covered only for 3/36. I am sure I will start getting Extended Warranty offerings in the mail after 2 years so I will decide then to buy it if I am going to keep the car. I have other cars so I know the extended warranty in years will expire on me before I put 50k miles on the car anyway.

I was going to cancel mine, but not only would I not save on the monthly payment, I wouldn't get the money back from it until the end of my loan (seven years). They just shave it off the end of the loan by a few months. Seems totaly unfair considering I gave a large downpayment. Whos to say it didn't come out of my own cash. I know, I'm sure it's all in the fine print. Just another thing to collect interest on until the last minut.

I actually thought about dropping it, then refinancing the loan with out it. If I refinance my loan, is it considered a used car lown then. I'm hoping not since that usually has different conditions to the loan.

Mine is void (well, part of it, for the engine, anyway) as I am adding a S/C at Lingenfelter. LPE covers the engine for 3 yr 36K mi. the rest of the car is going under the normal 'factory' warranty.

No for me for extended. If i was to keep it stock and not do mods, it is a GREAT DEAL and I would add it.

So Scotty, it doesn't matter who/where we buy it from? What is the employee pricing and what's the different terms for the extended warranty?

Thanks!
Michael J.
