Which is the better car...

I've posted before, about getting a new car early 2010.... I know this is a Chevy site but, the mustang is an option.. so don't hate lol.

I'd like to hear your guys opinions on which car would be the best overall car... not just the one with the most HP.. but reliability, fun factor.. etc etc...

Here's the list:

2000-2002 Camaro Z28

2002-2006 Mustang GT (or a mach1 if possible)

2000-2002 Trans am Firebird

2005 GTO

2006 Monte Carlo SS

All those cars are within a 17K price range...

If you think an older camaro/firebird/mustang would be better than the newer ones, suggest it and tell me why... Like the early 90's models.

From that list, I would go with the Goat or the Monte Carlo.

haha, Im glad to see your answers... becauseeeeeee, the GTO is my favorite!

plus, there's a guy in my automotive tech. class with a 84 mustang that he swapped out the 4cyl. and put a 5.0 in and claims he can take the gto.... I told him that GTO would tear his butt up without leaving 3rd gear.

The only limit on the GTO is the size of tire you can fit out back. A lot of power to ba had though.

Im not sure how reliable the GTO is, i've heard mixed things about pontiac... so I was a little worried about getting too attached to the car, then it turning out to be a POS.

Holding me back? money!! haha. I've had my hours cut way back from full time to barely working & am looking for a dif. job with less pay but more hours so I'll make more & I should have enough to get the car early next year.

Edmunds and MSN both rated the GTO as having excellent reliability. My only quibble is that the reviews indicated that the suspension and steering were not as responsive as they could have been...more a point, stomp, and enjoy the ride kind of car than a mean corner-hustler.

My brother in law has one of the 6.0L GTO's, and all hes ever had to do is replace the battery, and put new tires on the thing. It runs great at 30k miles, easy car to get attached to ... lots of character.

Couldnt have said it much better. The GTO may have IRS, but its only there to make for a better ride. The Corners come slow and with a good deal of body roll in this car, but the ride is very nice. If your looking for something in that $$ range with more cornering ability id go with an 07' 350z.

Speaking of price...my searches for 05-06 GTO's put the range in the 20-23K range, so I dunno where you can find one for 17K unless it has higher mileage on it. Still, I would definately pay up to 23K for a GTO with 35k or less miles.
