Question Z/28 spoiler install

Hey guys my z/28 spoiler is getting delivered today I ordered from shop chevy parts.com. My Father and I will be taking a crack at doing it ourselves. I have a 14 1LS with no spoiler so I'll have to drill new holes. I'm sure the part comes with instructions. Any advice on the install ? I've seen some people remove spoilers and their trunk lid shows signs of rust at the holes. What can I do to prevent this? This is just the spoiler itself not the wickerbill.... Yet!

Well make sure you don't mess up the holes it will come with like rubbery plastic strips that go underneath to prevent what you are talking about make sure you have magnetic tools because some of the bolts will be hard to get too

I installed a SS wing on a 14' ls a few weeks ago. The wing I ordered didn't come with a template which was unfortunate. Instead it came with paper with holes I had to tape down and measure myself. It came out perfect but a actual template would have made it easy. I ordered the wing from eBay so that could possibly be the reason there was no template. Hopefully yours comes equipped with one to make it easier on you guys.

Make sure to mask around the area where you will be drilling. Don't want to have the drill "walk" on you.
