A/C controls not working

Has anyone else had this problem. I started car and my fan will not work or will any of the buttons for the air?

I have that problem too. I have turn the ignition off and put the fan switch to one of the speeds then start the car and it works. It doesn't do it all the time so the dealership said it has to be brought in when it's not working.

jwmarler48,

Thanks for your update! It's great to hear that everything works fine since you've restarted the car. Moving forward, please let us know how the vehicle operates and don't hesitate to message us if any additional questions arise.

Kindly,

Mine has done this a few times as well... the fan does not work and the dials do not respond.
I have vids to show the dealership because it never fails it doesn't work, then I take it in to have them look at it, they fire up the car and TA-DA it works... not so bad when its cooler outside I have the seat warmers but its a bitch in the heat of the summer... black car, black leather interior = one hota$$ ride home!

the day I bought mine it was going through pre delivery inspection and my salesman said the ac wasn't working but they could have the new part on Monday. he said I could back out of the deal. I was more worried looking out the window at the service guy with his laptop on my roof. ( scratch paranoia ) naturally I wanted the car NOW not LATER so I suggested they take the part out of another 1SS and let that one sit and wait for the part. most dealers would probably be like " oh no, we can't do that " but mine was very cool and immediately followed my suggestion. zero problems since but I have had what seems like heat shield rattle mostly at idle since new.

maybe the heat shield will fall off at 30k miles like it did on my 86 Fiero GT. ha. will have it checked at first oil change.

Mine did it occasionally as well. It's a programing glitch I think as it would usually clear itself up when you reboot the system. I think OnStar's solution is to turn the car off and open the driver door and wait three minutes, then start it again. It seemed to help a few of the times I did it.

Thats exactly what i did on my '15 only difference is i waited a few seconds. I thought i was the only one. Now if only they would address this as a problem and fix it. Kinda off-putting that we are having this issue on new cars.

I was just about to post this on here too. I was burning up on my way home because the computer was stuck on hot and the system was unresponsive when I changed the dials.

Anybody know of a permanent fix or do we have to wait for Chevrolet to release an update?

William, is Chevrolet working on fixing this?
