Spoil Ur Nuts...better check!

Just finished give my car the Zaino treatment and discovered that all 4 of my spoiler nuts were loose, like as in finger tight. I know this has been mentioned in another thread but worth repeating for those who perhaps didn't hear. If they fall off apparently it can be quite difficult to retreive them. not to mention the rattle.

It is really easy to check them, just pop the 4 rubber plugs (two in each corner of the trunk lid). You would think after almost 60 days in QC they might have caught this

lol yeah you would think so but i guess not. Anyways mine had factory stripes put on so when i went and checked, it was as tight as it could get. I wonder if these were just put on loose, or were put on tight but then loosens up as the car drives

this has happened to a few other members. FbodFather got on here and informed us that there was an incorrect torque setting on the tool for tightening the spoiler nuts.

Did Scott mention what the correct setting the torque wrench needs to be at?

The two center ones required several turns to tighten them up completely as well. Now hopefully they don't back themselves off again now that they have all been tightened.

Hahahah oh God, I was just skimming through threads and came across this and started laughing. That goes on top on the "Joke I have to use when I can" list.

But, on topic a little, all I did to check my spoiler was wiggle it and their was no movement, I should check the bolts to be sure right?

Hey Guys,

Definitely check to make sure yours is tight. I had the nut on the drivers side fall off, so the spoilers was loose and the nut was rattiling around inside the trunk lid. I took a trip to the dealership to get it all straghtened out. Makes me wish I had checked them earlier. Once the one had falled off I checked the rest and some of them were loose too...

Had them check it when it came in to the dealer. They were to spec.

Don't forget to torque yer nuts. And in this case, a bit of the blue stuff on them is a good thing (that would be lock tite).
