Dirt in Paint

Here's another paint issue. There are 4 places on my car where there is dirt under the paint. It's in the paint not just the clear coat. One on the hood, one on the right front fender by the mirror, one on the right rear fender by the trunk lid, and one on the drivers door. They tried to wet sand and buff them out but that just took the clear coat off since it is so thin. Now the only option is a repaint of these areas and then reapply the the stripes. They also told me that this would cause it to be on CarFax. I'm not happy. Where is the quality control?

I can take some after pictures showing the missing clearcoat. I'm not sure how well that will show up. I don't have any before. I should have taken some.

Just curious what color you car is? I have a SIM, and have about a couple of uglies also. Probably going to have to re-paint a couple of sections of mine also.

my paint is so bad I almost walked away from it at the dealer. Fisheye and orange peel like I've never seen on a factory paint job. It's terrible. Dealer said if I didn't take it, they would just sell the car for 5k over sticker and I could wait 6 months to get another one.

If you go to have your car freshly painted, I know its an extra expense but you will probably be much happier. Your marks will be gone, there will be most likely 0 orange peel or any other factory defects, and you'll have your clearcoat back =) .. as for reporting, i mean its not even an accident. Do all report it to the carfax and agencies? no. Its up to you what you want to do, but I don't see why they just wont repaint the car, the SAME color. Also theres no accident involved, no insurance company involved... you as a consumer want the car repainted heh.

CGM And three triangulated pieces of dirt on the hood. They are where the stripes are going tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if the stripes bubble up on them? I will point them out before the stripes to see what they want to do. With disclosure that if the stripes do come up I will want it fixed.
I agree that getting pictures of them on here is hard. I tried and it was not worth posting.

I also have a spot on driver side front fender. It looks like something got on the paint before it dried.

I am also having paint problems: It is RJT and has 8 different spots over the entire car...looks like dirt in the paint...also has 2 drips (hood and rear quarter panel near gas cap)...2 scratches on the back bumper (they were there when I went to pick it up)...body shop is now working the issue. Forgot to get photos...too frustrated! Couldn't wait to get it...not happy yet!

Yup! Blame Canada

I think quite a bit of cars have this, Its like they painted the cars in a both and dried them outside? Im sure most cars are like this just the owners dont inspect too closely. I noticed once I waxed. theres a few threads about this and fisheyes far too common.

Its like if there less than 10 specs its clear to go?
