Get the December issue Car & Driver !

Slightly older news for car junkies but the December Car & Driver is a must read for 1LE owners. Check out the pic on page 50. My biased eyes see a white beauty, a mother-in-laws blue fusion coupe and someones red land yacht. My nitpicks with the article include the obsession with the Camaro interior complaints. HEY NEWS FLASH - I didn't buy a luxury car and there is nothing to complain about inside this car. Everything I need right where I need it even if the steering wheel blocks the analog speedo. I don't use that anyway - prefer the digital. The reference to *a touch of mush* in the brake pedal? Really guys??
I understand the initial vague slack here but these brembos are perfection in every sense. Sorry C & D but the last thing I want is a brake pedal so sensitive it throws you thru the windshield when you touch it. Overall C & D did a flawless job with this three car review. Of course the Mustang GT won in this issue - it's a brand new car vs. a couple of year ( s ) old designs. If the Mustang didn't win Ford would put C & D on the shit list.

I love this car. Merry Christmas or whatever holiday you choose to celebrate ( or not ). The 1LE is pure driving pleasure.

on a side note for car nuts : found two hellcats on local lots - one for sticker at $63k and the other dealer was asking $64k plus a $25k markup. the next time I looked they were both gone. I don't see how a mopar tranny ( 8 spd auto ) is able to handle the torque but I am not the expert.

Agreed C&D likes the 1LE. The standalone review was very on target and favorable.

Here you go with the threads on this topic.

The C&D Pony Car Comparison:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=383492

The C&D 1LE Drive:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...hlight=porsche

I disagree that C&D picked the new Mustang GT over the 1LE because they had to. The GT is most likely the better car and still very close on the track. In R&T testing the GT PP beat the 1LE on thier track test. The GT PP plays to a wider audience than the 1LE. But that makes the 1LE special to me.

If I was buying now I would have to consider the GT PP. But given what we know, I would wait to see how the GT350 turns out, only a little pricier than a loaded 1LE. And I would wait to see how Chevy responds with the CA6.

Sorry, scanner is on the blink, it doesn't seem to be online. Maybe someone else can post.

Motown Mile Times:

2015 Mustang GT: 56.81
2014 Camaro 1LE: 56.83

A virtual tie, but a very slight edge to the Ford. Looking at this track I think it will favor power over finesse. Not nearly as good as the Lightning Lap stuff. But even there C&D moved the test up to get better weather and perhaps times have improved overall. Weather makes it hard to compare times year to year or even day to day. But for Internet racing these articles are great.

What's funny is that while the Mustang one overall by numbers, it was mentioned that all of those drivers PREFERRED the 1LE in general, as it was much more fun to drive.

The 2015 1LE has won all other tests by 2 - seconds. Something stinks here!

I actually agree about the "mushy" brakes. While I wouldn't say they are horrible, a lot of other cars I've driven has had a much firmer feel to the pedal.

Thanks. (you could try to upload a picture of it from your phone.)
I agree a track like the Motown mile will favor power, 3 straits with 4 turns.
The mustang still has a better weight ratio than the Camaro.

Here you go:

(Notice the 2014 SS is not that far back. It beat the M4 and the Boss 302!)

Isn't a chance in hell the Hellcat is that much faster. Sorry, but that thing gets smoked on the racecourses. I have a hard time buying any of these time tests.

Something is really wrong here, the 1le has been tested to be much faster than the. 2015 GT.

If this track is intended for power then y is the hellcat so behind. Does it not have the most hp of all the tracked cars on the list?

You need to separate the brake and clutch fluid reservoir. This should eliminate your soft Brembo brake feel.
