Is there an easy way to burnish brake pads?

For me it is a difficult process at best to burnish my pads. Unfortunately i live in Calif. and there's nothing but freaking people. I have to get up at 4:30 on a Sun morning and this is still very difficult to do even at that hour, and this takes so long and by 6:00AM forget it. Is there any other way to burnish my pads?

Your best bet is in the middle of the night or in an industrial district where there aren't a lot of people. It's definitely kinda tough to follow the directions "legally" though.

Best regards,

I never had a problem but granted I lived in the desert. You are in a pretty populated area. I would scout out an area that has little to no traffic.

I live in Yucaipa.

Lots of roads around here to burnish your brakes. Come on out.

That's the dilemma....driving a long distance to do the burnishing sort of defeats the purpose....

My only option was just like the OP's....Early AM....picked a route to do the slow breaking before getting on the freeway....then, Hard braking on the freeway...(only with no-one behind me...lol)....Then, back to the garage for cool-down...

Really, I don't see any other way to really do it how the instructions say it should be done....

Good luck, Mark!
