Whipple vs maggie

I have now had both and here is my simple review. The maggie definitely comes on harder at the start but my whipple definitely pulls better on the big end. For a street car I feel like the maggie was the better blower, for really long interstate pulls I feel the whipple is the better blower. For just pure street fun I liked my maggie better then I do my whipple. Want a interstate flag car and a top mount then get the whipple, want a dig car for 1/8th or 1/4 mile get a maggie. But when I get a C6 I will be going twin turbo.

I've had both as well and they both are great but I really like the Whipple.

I'm just curious (not judging!) why swap to a different blower setup? Which one did you start with and what caused the switch?

Did you run the same boost level on each? Also, did you ever dyno the two setups?

I had the Maggie first and with a 3.6 pulley my car made 603 once and 585 the rest of the time. With just the change to the Whipple and the stock 4.0 pulley car made 650+ on every pull. Like I said both are great I just like how the Whipple pulls harder up top. These numbers were before I had a 417 built.

My 2010 Camaro that had the Maggie was totaled in a crash.

605 on a mustang dyno. I didn't want to take it any farther with a stock 6L80 tranny.

A 650 hp blower no matter the type will pull harder than a 580 hp blower no matter the type.HP Is up top.

Agree, I was just showing the comparison between the 2 on my car, same tuner, same dyno. But yes the whipple still feels like it pulls all the way up top where the Maggie felt like it stopped around 5500rpm.

Not only boost level but size of blower. All of that comes into play. Boost isn't boost. Tell a centri or turbo guy that.

You would have to pulley the 2.3L Maggie down to 3.17" to equal the amount of air the 2.9L Whipple is moving with a 4" pulley. Pulley the Maggie down that low and there wouldn't be much HP difference, if any.

Even then it's not equal. Not really a way to compare two blowers that are different sizes.

I started with the Maggie and it pulls hard off the bottom but falls on its face up top. Ive had 3 different Prochargers and I absolutely LOVE them. They pull from the bottom and never stop screaming up top.
