Smile Just installed tinted Headlight Covers on my car with HID's

Here's a few shots during the install process. The manufaturer does not recommend using them if you have HID's because if you arent driving, but have the HID lights on they could warp. I put them on last friday and actually drove about 120 miles with them to to see if there would be any issues... other than some diminished light output, they look REALLY COOL.

The only thing that the directions did not mention is that you really really need to put some painters tape on the bumper to make sure you dont scratch the bumper.

Additional Photos

FYI they also come in clear... and since our headlights are $800 EACH ... yes each! for the HID lights .. it might be worth protecting them.

Looks pretty hawt imo. First thing i do to most cars ive had, install some GTS head/taillight covers! I'm considering it, yet it sorta takes away from the front of the car.

LOOKS GOOD BUT...

I am warning everyone just an FYI, Corvette owners put a "tint" on there front lenses with HIDs and it ALWAYS cracks the plastic of the original headlight. For us it is an 1800 dollar mistake so be careful.

Looks great!

Personally I think headlight and tail light covers are a must. Have both on my Monte Carlo and Avalanche but are illegal here in Maine when the lights are on. So pretty much cant have taillight covers, or headlight covers that cover the turn signals. Headlight covers can be on during the day if they dont cover turn signals.

Do you think those headlight covers could be modified so they dont cover the turn signals? Or are they made so that that is a way they are held on by attaching around the turn signal, kinda looks that way.

It looks cool but... Don't HIDs get pretty hot? How heat-resistant is this tinting material? I thought I saw some headlight tint advertised, but it had a specific warning not to be applied over the HIDs...Could that be what causes the corvette cracking Indpowr is talking about?

As I posted elsewhere Customer Service at GTS does not recommend the Headlight covers for road use, only for show. They indicated the heat will warp the headlight covers. While they did not say anything about the original headlights I can imagine that with the cover on and no way to dissipate the heat the original headlight lenses may be effected as well.

Here's their email address to check with them directly - customerservice@teamxenon.com

I like these, but what if you took a dremel rotary tool and cut out 2, maybe 3 rectangles (in front of the headlight) to simulated the small windows of the retractable headlight covers that the late 60's camaro had?

Have you guys installed the rear GTS taillight covers? Do you have to remove anything or do you just Velcro them straight onto the original taillight?
