Greg's 2012 2LS, "Caitlyn"
Meant to start this a while ago.
I have wanted this car ever since the concepts were released while I was in 5th grade. When it finally came out and came in VR I knew I wanted a 1LS/RS. After months of looking I could not wait any longer. The cars were either in bad shape, not what I wanted, or didn't feel right. I drove to the dealer, passed by my Caitlyn and knew she would be mine. I didn't care if she wasn't a stick or RS, she had to be mine. Made a deal the same day, raised the down payment and bought her! Previous Owner left her Bluetooth device list on there, her name was Becky/Rebecca. If anybody knows of a VR 2012 that ended up in MD. Not much else on her :( Date of something wonderful: June 11th, 2014 - Late self bought 19th birthday gift "Caitlyn" - 2012 2LS Victory Red Coupe Basics: Color: Victory Red Year: 2012 Trim: 2LS/ Non RS (Looked around )Transmission: Auto Interior Mods: - LED Glow Single Color Blue Foot Well Lighting - Blue LED (under) Door Lights - Blue LED Dome Light - Blue LED Trunk Light - Four Pack Gauge Retrofit - 3 Fire Extinguishers & Custom Made Brackets (how-to) Exterior Modifications: - Black Vinyl Rear Bowtie from Phastek - Black Carbon Fiber Vinyl Front Bowtie, hand cut from vinyl sheet - 1910 Vintage Reproduction MD License Plate: "CLR2LND" - Blue LED Grille Lighting, used LED pod lights and added a switch - Missing front bottom diffuser/splitter thing-a-ma-bob (hit a deer) - Blue LED Rear/Exhaust Lighting - Black Dipped Tail Light Bezels - Black Dipped Spoiler - DIY Hashmarks. The night I got her: I showed her off to my dad, Jr. and grandpa, Sr. |

Her first set of license plates while waiting for the custom ones to arrive:
The new plates! The first black bowtie, rear: The front bowtie, I couldn't get the phastek to fit so I made my own for $3. Better than the precut. |

Interior LEDs
RX catch can install Grille LEDs half complete. I still have to hide wires and add more, waiting for the temps to get up past 25F. Lighting the bottom portion next. All installed THROUGH the grille, way too cold to remove the radiator cover. MRT v1 Axle Back Video of the start

Love the custom license tag
and love the color. Don't worry I have the base model and the beauty of having it as a base model. More money you save in payments and you customize it how you want it to look. And that is exactly what I am doing with my car. But yes it is a beautiful car.

Beautiful Car.... Congrats and I understand the excitement.... I'll be following along with this one as you make it more and more your own... Great Start...

Thanks both of you! I see the base as a clean slate. A SS would be nice but I love my 6. I have a lot in mind for this car. I look at new ideas daily and get plenty of ideas here too.

Two new mods!
Playing with LED door lights. I got Alpena brand Ultra Bright blue LEDs and wired them to the Onstar fuse using an add-a-fuse. Just a temporary proof of concept setup at the moment. In the future I want to wire it using a SPDT switch so that it has two on positions and an off. The first ON will be constant while the other will be wired to the dome light so that I can choose which I want to use. Here is the setup in action:

The second new mod is the intake! Cold Air Inductions black CAI. It adds an interesting sound to the MRT v1. It has a nice semi/wannabe turbo boost dump type of sound. It truly gives a V8 sound to the 6. When I got on it I noticed that it sounds louder and more aggressive. Unfortunately when I got on it I smelled an extremely strong electrical smell. Third time now, luckily I have several extinguishers. It may be oil or debris. I still have to check out the source.
I found damage on the throttle body assembly, it is the last pic At any rate this is the install: |

Keep it up so far the car looks very nice. In one pic it looks like your car has a high spoiler lol but its only the wooden posts.

Add lights to my CAI and installed my under door LEDs. In great need of rewiring all lights together. I plan to keep all exterior lights on one switch and my footwells on another. Currently on 4 switches. 1 for the CAI, 1 for my grill, 1 for footwell and 1 for under door lights.

Last night I installed the passenger side under door light. In addition I relocated the pax side foot well from under the seat to under the glove box so that I can finally install my fire extinguishers after months of having them loose in the back seat.
