Upgrading battery

Just wondering if anyone has replaced their battery with a different one. I have an upgraded stereo, and was thinking about putting an optima yellow top in, but not sure if it will fit. Just wondering if anyone has done this, or if anyone has any suggestions of a battery that might fit.

Optima batteries are garbage. I had no luck with two of them. Get a higher cca rated wet cell battery.

I had an XS Power Battery in my previous car that handled not only starting the car but also the audio system pretty well.

The Sears AGM battery has worked very well so far for me. Advanced Gold AGM Grp Size 94 800cca. I have this battery in Three different vehicles with no issues so far.

That funny as I had the same Optima battery in my vette for six years without an issue. I had Sears Die hard golds before that died just before the 3 year warranty.
I've never looked back.

I still have the factory battery in my Camaro since 09, no issues yet and never on a maintainer. However, every time I have replaced a battery in any of my other vehicles I have put an optima in even on the diesels.

I have one optima that's over 10 years old that I took out of one of my pickups (300k mile diesel) because I thought it was weak and put in in my race car, turned out it was a combination of the starter and alternator going out at the same time but it has worked fine for about 2years in the race car.

anyone know what size or kind of battery we have in our zl1. And is it a "AGM" (absorbed glass mat) battery?

Thanks

No, I ran one in my other cars and really like them. I'm looking for which part number the others are using in their ZL1's as well since there isn't a direct replacement part on the Optima website.

I believe the optima battery is the same size as a normal battery, Get a ruler and measure it. After the battery warranty with the stock battery runs out I am going to put in an optima. I do not like wet batteries in the trunk. No matter how good they are sealed that acid gas gets out in time. and for some reason the battery cracks and I had a few, that will mess up the trunk..

The research I did states to use Battery Model: 78
Part Number: 8078-109 for the Optima Red Top.
