Stock 2012 SS vs 05 Bolt on Mustang GT 5spd?
Heading up to Orlando Speed World with some friends this Tuesday for their monthly street car only night.
In the group of friends going is a very odd mix of cars. Me Stock 2012 L99 Camaro RS 2SS Stock 2010 C63 AMG 6.3 456 hp version 2004 Bolt on Nissan 350Z 6spd Stock 2012 Jeep Cherokee SRT8 Stock 2005 Acura RL 2005 Mustang GT 5spd long tunes, Ford racing axel back exhaust, CIA, tune, hi po coil packs, lower control arms, ford racing clutch, stock gears. I have run the Jeep, out of 4 runs beat him once. He would destroy me off the line but I would reel him in by the end of the 1/4. When he was late on the tree had him even by the 1/8 pulled away for the win. This ones always a nail biter can go either way, I normally run a tenth of so faster ET and mph him by 5-6 mph. C63 AMG ran 13 flat at 110 last time with traction issues. Expect a loss here. 350Z I have no idea, but the owner says I will drag him pretty bad. I think he's being modest and the car is quicker. Acura I expect to beat pretty easy. The question is the 05 Stang GT, with those mods I think it could be a decent race? I have no idea when it comes to that generation Stang. I have owned a few older 4.6 new edge SN95's GT's and raced similar cars with my old 99 LS1 6spd Z28. Back then my stock Z28 would have no problem with a full bolt on SOHC 4.6 GT. Normally would be close in first and most of second but by third gear I was pulling away good. So I don't know if this 05 GT vs my L99 will be similar or what, what do you guys think? Btw he's never run at the track. Last edited by DDJ-SX-SS; 01-11-2015 at 01:01 PM. |

Mustang's probably a high 13-low 14 sec car.
Never being at the track for him will hurt his times |

Dj you are going to devestate the stang buddy. It's a 3 valve dog, the jeep, and mbz are going to be your worries but still I would not expect an ass kicking (it will be close).

Thanks for the input guys.
I raced the Cherokee SRT8 on our last trip. Beat him once and lost to him 3 times. He always hole shots me like crazy then I run him down by the end of the 1/4. But right when I catch him I run out of track. I mph him by 5 to 6 mph and run a tenth or two quicker but that AWD launch kills me. Plus he's a good driver, always gets a faster reaction time. The time I got a better rt I won that round. Never ran the Benz, anything is possible but I know that's a much faster car. The Mustang I was most curious about, I don't know a lot about SN96 3V's or how they respond to mods. |
